Happy Birthday Mummy!

Last night I went to be pretty early for a Friday night (because I am a nanna!) so by the time I woke up this morning, I was ready to get on with the day!

I skyped my Mum back home as it is her 59th Birthday today! Happy Birthday Mum!  As most of you know, she has been batting Cancer and it's side effects for a number of years now.  I am so proud to call her my Mum.  If I can even be half the strong, amazing, beautiful woman my Mum is - then I will be happy :)

After speaking to Mum, I made myself some porridge for breakfast.  Knowing I would be out for a run after putting the washing on, I needed some energy to get me through the hills!

  • 1/3 cup of Quakers oats
  • 2/3 cup of Sainsburys unsweetened soy milk
  • 1 tsp Linwoods milled ground flax seeds
  • 1 tsp The Groovy Food Co agave nectar
  • 1 tsp PHD Pharma Whey protein powder
This is me before I set out for my 5K.  Nice and prepared to run in today heat (London is 27degrees today! YAY!)

Trust me, I did not look nice and composed when I returned.  My face was bright red, I was sweating like nobody's business and I had all these weird sweat patches on my shirt.  I took a photo, but since I was a bit grossed out by what I saw, I decided not to post it for the world to see.  hehe.
A quick shower and wash of the hair and I am off to visit Robbie! We haven't caught up for a while, so stay tuned to hear about what wonderful food I will have eaten this afternoon and hopefully some pics of his wonderful view over the Thames in SW London.

Have a great day!
