Tuesday I spoke to my beautiful friend Lil, who invited me up to her place in Cambridge for the night. I was pretty keen to get out of London (especially with my impending move on Friday) so I said yes right away.
I knew that we would be doing a lot of walking up in Cambridge, but not what I am used to - so I went for a quick run to start the day.
I have no idea why I didn't keep going on this run. I set a new PB for a mile and was having loads of fun, even while struggling with a horrendous head wind. Man I hate those! It feels like trying to run in a bad dream. Bleh. Next time, I am going to try and go for a PB for a Nike+ timed 5K :)
When I got home, I created a little lifting circuit with my 7.5kg dumbbells. That's all I have at home, so you have to make do with what you can right?
I completed 3 sets of 10 reps of the below exercises:
Alternative dumbbell curls
Then 3 x 20 weighted squats with one pull up at the end and my ab workout that can be found in my FAQ page.
I made sure I stretched, showered, packed a small bag and buggered off!
By the time I got to Kings Cross station I was hangry (hungry and therefore angry) so I grabbed a wrap, chocolate, water and mag for the 1hour train ride up North.
I really do love getting out of London. It is so easy to just hop on a train and end up somewhere so different it feels like you are not even in the same country.
This is what it looks like at 3:30pm in Cambridge by the way. Cold and dark. I was inappropriately dressed of course, but that's the story of my life isn't it?
Do you explore your own country side, wherever you are? Are you a city or country lover?
